Frequently Asked Questions

General

Our general visiting hours are 5 PM to 8 PM daily.

Use the Appointment page or any doctor profile to book online.

Yes, we accept most major health insurance providers.

Yes, our emergency department operates 24/7.

Appointments & Serials

You can book online from any doctor's page on this website — pick a date, choose a sitting and fill in your name and phone number, and you will get a serial number. You can also call +88 01711 785199 between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM, or message the same number on WhatsApp.

A few consultants do not publish a fixed sitting time, so we cannot promise an online slot for them. Their page shows a call and WhatsApp button instead, and the desk will give you a serial over the phone.

For most doctors, no — you pay at the desk on the day. A few consultants do ask for the fee in advance; where that applies it is stated clearly on the doctor's page and on the booking form, together with how to pay.

Call the hotline and we will move you to the next available sitting for the same doctor. There is no charge for rescheduling.

Yes. You can come to the reception and take a serial for any doctor sitting that day, subject to how many patients are already waiting. Booking ahead simply means a shorter wait.

Visiting & Location

Shaktola, Laksam Road, Cumilla-3500 — about 1 km south of Tomsom Bridge and 3.7 km north of the Bishwa Road (Padua Bazar) intersection. There is a map on our contact page.

Yes. Emergency, ICU, inpatient care, the pharmacy and the ambulance service run 24 hours a day, every day. Outpatient doctor chambers run to each consultant's published sitting time, mostly from the afternoon into the evening.

Attendants may stay with the patient. General visiting is in the afternoon and early evening; the ward nurse will tell you the exact times for that ward, and ICU visiting is restricted to short periods for the patient's safety.

Tests & Reports

Rates are revised from time to time, so we ask you to confirm the current price with the desk on +88 01711 785199 rather than rely on an out-of-date figure. Every test page on this site lists what the test is for and how long the report takes.

Most routine blood tests, X-rays, ultrasounds and ECGs are reported the same day. Culture and sensitivity takes three to five days, and a few specialised tests take two to three days. The report time is listed on each test page.

It depends on the test. Fasting blood sugar and lipid profile need 8–12 hours of fasting; an abdominal ultrasound needs fasting and a full bladder. Each test page states what to do, and the desk will confirm when you book.

Yes, bring the money receipt. For sensitive reports we may ask for a phone confirmation from the patient.

Emergency & Ambulance

Call +88 01335 529991 for the emergency department. For an ambulance, call +88 01819 012342 or +88 01831 711831 — both lines are answered 24 hours a day.

Yes. Modern Hospital has an intensive care unit, a coronary care unit, a high dependency unit and a neonatal intensive care unit, with ventilator support and a critical care consultant leading the team.

Payment & Admission

Cash, bKash, Nagad, Rocket and cards are accepted at the desk. Please keep every money receipt — it is needed to collect reports and to settle the bill at discharge.

We work with several insurers and corporate clients. Bring your insurance card or company authorisation letter to the desk before admission so the paperwork can be started early.

Your consultant writes the admission advice, and the desk arranges a bed or cabin. Bring the patient's national ID or birth certificate and any previous reports and prescriptions.
